Dr. Michael Barrett, foot and ankle DPM, is a General Podiatrist Austin - Lakeway area specializing in Podiatric Surgery. For 8 years, he practiced with The Podiatry Group of South Texas, located in San Antonio. After that, he worked with a large group of 20 doctors, who he recently branched away from in order to come to Austin and open a new foot practice located in the beautiful Lakeway area.

As a Podiatrist, Dr. Barrett is focused on providing his patients with the most advanced means of diagnosis and finding a treatment plan that will best lead his patients to complete recovery. Once the patient’s problem has been properly diagnosed, he looks to exhaust all means of conservative care before looking into surgical alternatives.

Dr.Barrett is dedicated to continuously learning about all the new findings/technology related to his field, especially in the area of surgery. Regularly, he takes part in extensive research studies which focus on testing the effectiveness of new treatments for foot pain and fast healing.

Today, Dr.Barrett is one of the few Austin podiatrists who have a board-certification in total foot/ankle reconstruction. He also proudly holds a dual board certification in Foot Surgery & Rear foot/ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatry.
